Battle Controls
AttackMove close to an enemy and it will start blinking. You may then attack directly with the A-button.
DefenseYou can defend by bringing up the action menu with the B-button and selecting "D".
ItemYou can use the currently selected item by bringing up the action menu with the B-button and selecting "I".
If no item is selected, your character will defend.

* You can change the designated item by pressing Start.
MagicYou can use the currently selected magic by bringing up the action menu with the B-button and selecting "S".
Warriors without the Scroll skill will defend.
There are three primary methods of targeting:
- Direct contact (some spells will also work without direct contact or within a certain distance)
- All characters in a straight line (if your allies are hit, they will also take damage)
- All characters in a certain radius (any characters who are blinking will take damage)

* You can change the current magic by pressing Start.
FleeYou can run from battle with the Select button.

Status
LEVELCurrent level.
AGECurrent age. In this world, one year is six months.
EXPExperience points. "Current experience / Experience to reach the next level"
GOLDAmount of gold. You can increase it through work and other means.
OCPOccupation. The job the character takes while living in town.
HPHit points. When it reaches zero, the character dies.
MPMagic points. When it reaches zero, the character cannot use magic.
STRStrength. In other words, attack power.
DEFDefense. Necessary to protect one's body from enemy attacks.
INTIntelligence. Affects the learning and success rate of magic.
DEXDexterity. Necessary for opening chests and defusing traps.
AGLAgility. Affects turn order and movement in battle.
VITVitality. Necessary for healing.
DIVDivinity, or one's divine protection. Affects one's luck, as well as the prices in shops.
SKILLThe character's Skills. Each character can learn up to four different skills.
