Dark Lord: The Basics =81@In general, the A Button talks to people and examines things. The B= Button uses magic. The Start Button opens and closes the command menu,= and the Select Button changes the party order. =81@During battle, the A Button unleashes a melee attack with the curren= tly equipped weapon. The B Button will bring up the Action Menu (D =3D = Defend, I =3D Item, S =3D Scroll--in other words, magic). Press the Sta= rt button on the Action Menu to change the currently selected item or sp= ell. You can flee the battle with the Select Button. =81@The trickiest thing about magic at first is just figuring out how to= use it, and to be honest, it could've been implemented better. =81@In exploration mode, the character in the lead is the one whose spel= l will be cast, so to use magic, you have to first put the character you= want in the lead, then press B to cast the spell. =81@When you choose a Scroll (your magic), you have to push the A Button= twice on the selection screen. You can only use the magic you have sel= ected. You can change spells in battle using the Action Menu (D - I - S= ) by pressing the Start Button over "S". In battle, at least, all chara= cters can use different spells, not just the lead character, and the gam= e remembers who's using which spell, but it's still a pain if you have t= o change spells over and over. The Standard Flow =81@First, you create your characters. This will be explained in detail= later on, so feel free to refer to that section. You take a job in tow= n, raising your abilities and learning skills. This too is covered late= r, in the "Character Building" section. You can have up to three charac= ters in your party. "Fighter - Fighter - Wizard" and "Fighter - Wizard = - Wizard" are the most recommended combinations. =81@Next, you investigate for anything out of the ordinary. As you wand= er around town talking to people, you'll eventually be asked to go on an= adventure or take a job. Finally your quest begins. There are flowcha= rts given elsewhere for each quest in case you have trouble. This seque= nce then continues until you've completed all the scenarios. Other Things to Note
