Ganbare Goemon 2 is part of a famous series of video games which very few have ever made it to the US. It's not your usual series and ganbare can mean go for it. I'm pretty sure Goemon is the Japanese equivalent of Robin Hood and just apply the meaning to that and there's your answer.

-Most of the japanese graphics have been left in Japanese to give the game a "Japanese feel"

#1 - The first letter of Fortune selections and food items can be corrupted by rapidly switching between choices or not letting the string finish. I know the cause of this issue, but it's not worth the effort to fix it.
